Club Atlético Colón de Santa Fe (Spanish pronunciation: ˈkluβ aˈtletiko koˈlon), commonly referred to as Colón de Santa Fe (koˈlon de santa ˈfe), is a sports club based in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. The club is best known for its football team, which plays in the Primera División, the top tier of the Argentine football league system.
Colón was founded on June 3, 1905, by a group of young men from the city of Santa Fe. The club's name was chosen in honor of Christopher Columbus, who is known as "Colón" in Spanish.
Colón's home stadium is the Estadio Brigadier General Estanislao López, which has a capacity of over 40,000. The stadium is named after Estanislao López, a former governor of the province of Santa Fe.
Colón's History
Colón has won several major trophies throughout its history, including the Primera División championship in 2018. The club has also won the Copa de la Liga Profesional in 2020 and 2022.
